Next Slide Company Please
Fight or Flight
Client: Pitch
Default choices are hard to break. Powerpoint is so popular it’s used as a noun. Our campaign had to work hard to persuade the audience to switch: ‘Next Slide Company Please’. To break the default, we needed to land on a truth that everyone could agree on. Pitching is fundamentally important, but the process is broken. Surely there is a better way? We set out to tell the real story behind pitching, with the launch of a report exploring the ugly truth about pitching, sparking a conversation in the key marketing press. We needed a big-hitting influencer to send our story into marketers’ news feeds – TikTok superstar Rob Mayhew was just the person. Rob called on his LinkedIn followers to share their worst pitch stories as inspiration for a unique piece of content. And the post exploded, with hundreds of stories flooding in, from agency bosses to CMOs. The campaign drove over half a million impressions, with Rob’s video viewed 237,000 times. The story landed in the likes of The Drum and Campaign, with a substantial segment on the hugely popular Uncensored CMO podcast. But most importantly, it drove a 91% rise in sign-ups to Pitch software. The default to Powerpoint was broken.
