Tragically, 1 in 10 children have experienced sexual abuse, with approximately 500,000 cases annually in England and Wales.

Child sexual abuse (CSA) happens in every community. Although data on CSA within ethnic minority communities is limited, research suggests significant barriers to reporting within South Asian communities. By effectively utilising cultural insights and trusted voices, we piloted a highly successful campaign for the Home Office supporting South Asian communities in Birmingham. Our campaign significantly increased awareness of CSA and willingness to report incidents of CSA, setting a precedent for future efforts in other communities.
